This week we only had one rehearsal and we spent the majority of time working on the detail of the first half of the play. Outside of rehearsal, I spent some time thinking about other technical aspects of the play such as lighting and sound effects. Though this is a comedy, I'm approaching it from a more naturalistic way. I was suggested having exaggerated fight sound effects but after consideration, it felt like this kind of sound won't fit in the overall presentation of the play.
One other thing I'm working on right now is keeping Linda's energy up. Since in the current blocking, Sarah, who plays Linda, is sitting down most of the first half of the play, her energy is dragged down and it seems unbalanced with the other characters. I do plan on changing the blocking a bit so that she can move around more often.
