Sasquatch: Last Week Before Company Run-Throughs

This week we had four rehearsals on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. This week we focused on "working" the play. At this point our actors are off book, however there is still some paraphrasing so we are encouraging them to look over their scripts and get the dialogue as close to the scripts as possible. Some of the notes that I gave to the actors were to take their time delivering their lines and get the diction down, but also to shorten the transitions between the line before them. We also added a lot of our props that will be used in the performance, so that the actors can get used to delivering their lines while working with the props. I would say that one of my main concerns about the play right now is the amount of props we have. There are still so many little props (like food) that we won't get the chance to work with until tech. This week there was also lots of conflicts with schedules since some of our actors are in two shows or are auditioning for other theater opportunities. Because of this, I filled in for many of the actors this week. I actually thought it was really fun to work with them and it gave me ideas that I wouldn't have thought of otherwise. Overall, everyone is doing very well. I am so impressed that everyone is off book and giving their best at rehearsals. I can't wait for these guys to perform in front of an audience!
